Melvyn James is the Director of Mel James Limited, a United Kingdom based firm providing consulting services in the aerospace and defense industry, since August 2007. Mr. James provides consultancy services in aerospace and general defense maintenance, logistics and safety management. He has over 40 years of experience in designing and maintaining combat, transport and civil aircraft, and helicopters including those of NATO and former Warsaw Pact inventories. Mr. James has experience in managing research and development activities for airframes and systems, engines, avionics, support equipment, air launched weapons, and conducting acquisition and logistics studies into a wide range of air, land, and sea-based defense systems. He holds a BS in Aeronautical Engineering from Glasgow University, a MS in Aircraft Design from Cranfield University, is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and a professional chartered engineer assessor under the rules of the UK Engineering Council.
