Council Member Biography

Michael Cherry is the President of Cherry Biometrics Inc. Cherry Biometrics invents, patents, integrates and builds biometric solutions. The Forensic Division of Cherry Biometrics holds the world record in winning fingerprint cases for the defense; they use in-house capabilities that can quickly analyze and find subtle fingerprint errors. The same capabilities can be reversed to rapidly find accurate fingerprint matches. The firm consists of biometric pattern recognition scientists who have appeared before the National Academies of Science and have worked with the US Department of Commerce, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Mr. Cherry is Vice Chair, Digital Technology Committee, for the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. The US Department of Justice has favorably reviewed two of his biometric articles on their web site. He is often quoted in the mainstream press including Time Magazine, WSJ, NY Times, AP and The Chicago Tribune. (This is me - Update Profile)

Most web sites, software and operational procedures are hacker friendly and repairing them will take years. Plan B, is to attempt to stop theft by using Data Loss Prevention and Encryption tools. Unfortunately, some IT departments are rejecting these tools as too demanding.
