Mr. Michael Hampel

Council Member Biography

Michael Hampel is the VP of International Services of Exel Transportation Services. Previously he was the Director of Transportation at Smithfield, where he is responsible for all domestic transportation. Mr. Hampel was previously, the Director, International Logistics at Smithfield Foods, where he was responsible for managing global distribution operations. Earleir, he had served as the Director, International Operations for Pilgrim's Pride Corporation. Prior, Mr. Hampel was a logistics manager at PM Beef Group, where he was responsible for automating and optimizing the logistics network for domestic and international distribution. Mr. Hampel has over 17 years of experience in vendor consolidation, contract negotiation, and operations management in the logistics industry. He has experience in managing intermodal and ocean transportation, customs compliance, and evaluating and implementing international supply chain solutions.
