Michael McBride is Partner at Van Ness Feldman in Washington, DC, where he concentrates in litigation, especially that involving transportation, environmental issues, and rate making. For many years he has represented Edison Electric Institute and various electric utilities in transportation-related litigation and regulatory matters, negotiation, and dispute resolution involving transportation contracts. Mr. McBride represents many other entities before the Interstate Commerce Commission (now known as the Surface Transportation Board), and represented BP Amoco Chemical Company in the first formal small-shipment rate challenge before the Surface Transportation Board and Viacom (now CBS Corporation) in nuclear decommissioning disputes in arbitration and before the Nuclear Regulatory Commission; and Dow Jones & Company in postal rate-making matters. Apart from these Mr. McBride has been the Chairman of the Transportation Law Institute and the President of Association of Transportation Law Professionals. He holds a JD from the University of Wisconsin and an M.S. in Environmental Engineering form California Institute of Technology. His publications include "Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Merger Procedures," "Solicitation of Information from Ex-Employees in ICC Proceedings," and "Interstate Commerce Commission Certification of State Regulatory Bodies and Review of Intrastate Rate Decisions: The Need for Reform."
