Council Member Biography

Mike McNamara is a Partner and Chair of the Public Law & Policy Strategies Group at Sonnenschein in Washington, DC. Mr. McNamara provides strategic counseling to corporate, government, and nonprofit clients on matters that intersect business, law, policy, and politics. He advises on issues arising from Capitol Hill, the White House, administrative agencies, and state and local policy matters, with special emphasis on assisting clients in heavily regulated industries with significant policy considerations and political sensitivities. Since 2004, Mr. McNamara has been involved in creatively structuring and negotiating deals valued in excess of $70 billion. He also counsels on legislative and executive branch deliberations, and translates governmental actions — and inactions — that could impact portfolio companies or industry sectors.
