Council Member Biography
Moushumi Chopra is a Partner at Fox Mandal Little, a leading law firm in India. She has over 12 years of experience in corporate commercial and legal consultancy. Ms. Chopra specializes in areas of Restructuring, Securitisation, Mergers and Acquisitions, Mining, Retailing, Infrastructure, Project Finance, Foreign Investment and other Commercial Laws. She has advised Posco Korea, a Korean steel major on various issues relating to their investment of USD 12 billion in India (India’s largest foreign direct investment till date) including entry strategies, mining laws, port issues, setting up of a steel plant, negotiations and signing of memorandum of understanding with the concerned State Government. She has also advised Novelis, a Canadian major on its proposed acquisition by Hindalco, an Indian aluminium major for USD 6 billion (India’s second largest overseas acquisition till date). Ms. Chopra is currently advising numerous international majors on their entry strategy in India, mining laws/ regulations and land acquisition (This is me - Update Profile)
