Roy Berlin is the President and majority owner of Berlin Metals LLC, a Chicago area based metals service center engaged in the value added processing and distribution of flat rolled, carbon steel and flat rolled, stainless steel products in coil form. Berlin's customers include many well known manufacturers in the automotive (transportation), electronic, home construction, telecommunication, container and other industries in North America. Mr. Berlin regularly meets with the owners or top executives of the companies he sells to, as well as senior executives and managers from the US and foreign steel mills and trading companies who supply the steel required by his customers. He has also been an active participant for almost 20 years with the Metals Service Center Institute (MSCI), the metal service center industry's premier trade association, where he currently serves on the National Board of Directors, the Flat Rolled Council, and is the past President and current board member of the Central States Chapter. Additionally, he has attended at least 6 national steel industry conferences each year for more than 15 years. All of these activities result in Mr. Berlin being very well informed about the up to date direction of the steel market, specifically with issues relating to demand, supply, and pricing.
