Dr. Samir Mehta MD

Council Member Biography

Samir Mehta, MD, is Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Previously, Dr. Mehta was Orthopaedic Surgeon and Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery in the Division of Orthopaedic Trauma at the University of Pennsylvania. He was also Instructor at Harborview Medical Center. Dr. Mehta's clinical expertise and interests include trauma surgery, total joint arthroplasty, and spine surgery. His basic science research interests are in biomechanics and orthobiologics. Dr. Mehta serves as an advisor for purchasing and pricing on the Operating Room Committee for Trauma, Hip and Knee, and Spine Implants. He has authored numerous papers and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Implant Committee, the American Orthopaedic Association, and the Emerging Leaders Program.
