Council Member Biography

Simon Babes, MEng, is a Director at Colin Buchanan in the UK, a leading transport, planning, urban design and economics consultancy. Mr. Babes has expertise in demand forecasting, transport scheme appraisal, strategic transport policy development and PPP contracting, transport modeling (vehicle and pedestrian) and passenger space planning of metro, main line rail stations, transport interchanges and large scale public buildings and environments. He has significant experience of the transport sector in China, having set up Colin Buchanan's subsidiary company in Shanghai in 2004. Mr. Babes has directed a variety of projects in China, in other Asian countries and the Middle East. Mr. Babes relocated to Shanghai in August 2004 and from May 2010 is based in London. Prior to 2004, Mr. Babes was a Modeling and Standards Manager at London Underground. (This is me - Update Profile)
