Council Member Biography

Thomas Jensen is Partner at SNR Denton in Washington, DC, where he is a leader of the firm's renewable energy and natural resources law and policy practice. Mr. Jensen is knowledgeable on issues of ocean renewable energy regulation, electric transmission and petroleum pipeline sitting and permitting, National Environmental Policy Act compliance, Mineral Leasing Act compliance, fisheries management, hydropower regulation, public land special use permitting, and endangered species. His clients include investors, developers, utilities, pipelines, trade associations, oil and gas producers and service companies, and government agencies. Previously, Mr. Jensen served in the White House Council on Environmental Quality as Associate Director for Natural Resources; Majority Counsel to the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, Subcommittee on Water and Power; and Deputy Executive Secretary of the U.S.-Canada Pacific Salmon Commission.
