Walter Young retired in 2003 after 13 years as Chairman, CEO and President of Champion Enterprises, the largest manufactured home builder in the U.S. (selling over 25,000 homes in 2003). Previously, he was with The Budd Company, The Henley Group and BFGoodrich. Mr. Young has completed 23 domestic and international organization turnarounds in a variety of industries (tire, chemical, automotive, foundries, machine tools, manufactured housing) and over 75 successful mergers, acquisitions and divestures. Currently, he is a director of NRG Energy, Inc. (NYSE:NRG), Eagle River Homes, LLC, GuidePoint, LLC,nanocerox, Inc.,Swift Biosciences, Inc.,Weathershield, LLC, and ZETA Communities, Inc. He is also a trustee at Muskingum University and director of Geaners Southeast Michigan Food Bank. Mr. Young was named one of the top 19 business leaders in the 1990s by Harvard Business School.
