Railroad Industries Incorporated (RII) has been consulting for the transportation industry for 27 years, specializing in all aspects of rail, intermodal and multimodal transportation. RII has assisted with the development of several industrial parks and multimodal transportation facilities, business plans and line evaluations, market development, transit research, commuter train feasibility, and general management of rail movements. Today, RII employs 8 full time employees and 10 - 15 associates at a given time, providing consulting for railroads, shippers, investors and public agencies nationwide and internationally. RII’s project management process assigns both a Project Manager for technical expertise and quality control, as well as a Project Coordinator, who facilitates communication, project deliverables, billing and budget matters, contract compliance and other administrative details for clients. This process ensures that each client received the individual attention and responsiveness expected from RII. RII’s clientele includes economic development agents at all levels, from private investors and developers, to public agencies at local and state levels, to shippers of all commodity types and carriers of all modes. This diversity allows RII to develop comprehensive transportation planning that takes into account all stakeholders’ concerns for strategies that truly work in practice – from planning to implementation and preparing for future growth.
