Definition:

Acute coronary syndrome

Defined as either the new onset of angina or a change in anginal frequency or severity. This may include rest angina and angina with and without ischemic changes on the electrocardiogram. Previous terms used included pre-infarction angina, unstable angina, crescendo angina, etc.
