Gerson Lehrman Group to Present Best Practices on Deal Sourcing Using Expert Networks

Event is a part of the ACG InterGrowth 2009 conference, to be held May 12-14 in Las Vegas, NV

New York, NY – May 7, 2009 – Gerson Lehrman Group today announced that Managing Director of Private Equity Business Development, Michael Duran, will be a featured speaker at the ACG InterGrowth 2009 conference. The panel discussion, titled, “PE Hub presents: Social Networking & Dealmaking,” will focus on the effects of Web 2.0 applications on dealmaking, and on how firms can use social networking Web sites to tap business prospects online. The panel will be held on May 13, 2:00 p.m. in the LaTache Ballroom at the Wynn Las Vegas.

Mr. Duran will discuss three primary models for using expert networks in private equity business development and deal sourcing.

Michael Duran is Managing Director of Private Equity Business Development at Gerson Lehrman Group, where he was previously head of the Technology, Media & Telecommunications Research Practice. Prior to joining Gerson Lehrman Group, Michael was a Partner at Apax Partners focusing on early-stage technology investing. He also served as Vice President of Equity Research at Lazard Ltd. where he covered data networking companies. Michael held industry positions at Salomon Brothers and AT&T Bell Laboratories. He holds a CFA designation, an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, an MSEE degree from Carnegie-Mellon University, and a BSEE degree from the University of Washington.
