Microsoft on-demand exchange having stability problems
May 22, 2011
Exchange Online has downtime problems again | www.computerworld.com
Microsoft's move into the cloud is far behind other on-demand mail services such as Google and yahoo. Will these stability issues give Google's email and calendar programs for corporations a chance to take over?
Research in Motion Recalls Playbook - Deja Vu
May 16, 2011
Research in Motion announced a recall of roughly 1000 16GB Playbooks today that apparently had been shipped to Staples stores. The tablets in question are not able to properly load the initial operating system files. The severity and extent of the problem is unknown as most of the units remain in either distribution or storage. This is not the first time a RIM product launch met with initial disaster, as both Bold and Storm each suffered similar issues.
People do not pay for Radio, TV, or digital newspapers

8 in 10 Won’t Pay for Online Daily Newspaper | www.marketingcharts.com
There are plenty of business models where the content is given away. If digital newspapers attract enough readers, then they will also attract enough advertizers.
May 5, 2011
Research in Motion (NASDAQ:RIMM)'s business model is in trouble and the underlying problems extend well beyond selling less handsets at lower prices. Their handset/service model will come under continued pressure, forcing sales, margins and ultimately enterprise value to decline.
Ma Bell to AT&T, "the consumer rules the new economy".

Ma Bell Stifled Innovation, AT&T May Do the Same | uk.ibtimes.com
When Ma Bell ruled the phone lines, most products were developed for businesses first and only later small versions were done for consumers. Today, it is the opposite. Products are built for consumers first and only later developed for businesses. This change is so significant that it will be difficult for even AT&T to stifle creativity.

Nokia – Undergoing a Massive Turnaround
April 28, 2011
Nokia to Shake Up Workforce | online.wsj.com
Nokia’s recent actions are all signs of a massive turnaround that is underway. The company had announced layoffs months ago and now they are happening. My suggestion to Mr. Elop: make sure the investment community knows what you are doing and why. Transparency, an overused and misused word in Washington, D.C., is absolutely necessary in a turnaround of this magnitude.
4G/LTE Roadmap: AT&T/Verizon vs LightSquared, Clearwire, Sprint, PCS and Leap?
April 25, 2011
4G/LTE is both a requirement and competitive advantage for players in the new wireless ecosystem. Data resale rules aside, AT&T and Verizon will begrudgingly comply as they look to garner the lionshare of the M2M revenue pie.Sprint holds the key for LightSquared to succeed as a viable provider. Existing terrestrial network, backhaul, wireless topology expertise and an existing subscriber base all would serve as critical "missing pieces" in the LightSquared puzzle.
Amazon makes the money on the reader software - Not hardware

The Kindle is an iPad Accessory, And That's Why It's Still Going to Be Huge | www.businessinsider.com
People own Kindles and iPads. The great thing is that you can read kindle books on your ipad with the kindle reader. Amazon has been smart to focus on the content and the software that runs on the kindle. If they make it run on all the tablet platforms, then it could be a solution like Microsoft office is to productivity tools.
My intellectual property creation is not manageable
April 18, 2011
With all of the recent new applications being developed for the tablet (iPad is my case), the ability to track company Intellectual property is getting more difficult and protecting these assets is nearly impossible. Yet IT is challenged with maintaining corporate assets with regards to digital information.
