Aer Lingus rejects new €738m offer from Ryanair | www.independent.co.uk
They had to say No - what else could they say? Anything positive would be to admit that they have not been running the airline well. R-R undertakes secret studies into public perception of open rotors | www.flightglobal.com
The "open rotor" is not new, they were first tested in the late 1980's. But these engines did not gather momentum becuase fuel became cheap and the concern about noise. So old ideas are getting dusted off.
