The Forum will focus, among other things, on the operators' provision of cloud services, and develop a framework to ensure integration of the network and IT. What is the Cloud? What are the challenges and opportunities? Look for early work within the Control Plane. Look for early successes once 4G is available.

WiFi will continue to represent a no-cost storefront and home solution. WiMAX will provide niche application support for a variety of solutions. 4G cellular via LTE will be the global wireless data bearer of choice for mobile phones, tablet PC’s, and any solution that requires ubiquitous service. Certain applications, such as paid WiFi service at airports and other locations, will see their final death due to 4G.
