South African Society of Metrics and Control - Aquisitions and Mergers | www.instrumentation.co.za
I am a CEO in the automation business and previously in the Aerospace segment. I have followed Rockwell since it was based in Pittsburgh and know all the transformation that it has gone through ..I believe that since the acquisition off Allen Bradley and the divestiture of the Defense business to Boeing, the company has lost its identity and continue to search for the right spot but have not found it.Rockwell is a good name and the name was identifiable with certain Brands and market..no longer , it may as well rename itself Allen Bradley as this is what its business now in Automation and the Name Allan Bradley is more appropriate to this business than Rockwell Automation or Rockwell International..etc. The company is certainly a take over candidate for the obvious reasons in it market place

Radio Shack to Game Shack – Why Not?

Radio Shack may dive into video games | www.dallasnews.com
I can think of more reasons why than why not. I’m not saying Radio Shack should copy GameStop but they could clearly build on what they’ve done, and invent something even more interesting. Nintendo didn’t just take market share from Playstation and Xbox with the Wii, they expanded the market, making video games appealing to a whole new segment. If they were really imaginative, Radio Shack could do the same with their stores.

Apple stock falls after iPhone price cut | news.yahoo.com
Is the privilege of being one of the first to get a highly anticipated, highly coveted item worth paying a premium? Going into it, many (most) would say yes. After the fact people get agitated. So Apple did something - offered an in-store credit – most would prefer cash - and even went so far as to apologize to customers. Didn’t have to do this but they did and it was the right and fitting thing for the situation.

Garmin, Magellan Gain Share in Q2 | www.twice.com
In Q2 the global GPS market more than doubled, and in the U.S. the mobile GPS market grew by almost 300%. As prices come down and portable GPS systems become less of a considered purchase and more of an impulse purchase, sales will continue to grow at an outstanding rate. On the flipside of this explosive growth has been returns as high as 20-30%.

Nokia's N-Gage gaming service now official | www.engadget.com
Persistence is sometimes looked upon as a strength. Persistence in a vision and carrying out effectively is necessary. This is Apple’s model. They have proven it with both their iPod and iPhone. Nokia, on the other hand, is about to be persistent…yet again. The communications giant is planning to re-launch the Nokia N-Gage series after failing twice.
