April 10, 2011
Is Japan Still a Stable Location for High-Tech Manufacturing? | www.ebnonline.com
As I had noted in my own website back in March 2011, the Japanese earthquake could have long-term impacts on the manufacturing of semiconductor chips in Japan and basically the entire electronics industry. Well, it appears it has all come true.
Sprint Lobbying Efforts – Outspent by AT&T

AT&T Outguns Sprint in Lobbying | online.wsj.com
Well you live and learn. The problem with regulatory budgets is that they are massive and unless you have a specific set of short term and long term objectives in mind, then it is important not to spend the money just for the sake of it. In short, Sprint did not need to spend that kind of money on lobbying in the last few years.
Amnesty for Internet Gambling Companies?
March 28, 2011
Good news for Internet gambling operators: Nevada approved Caesars Entertainment-888 partnership. So others, like Party Gaming - Bwin, can come back. But Wynn Resorts announced it will work with PokerStars. Sites taking US bets have better name recognition. MGM, Las Vegas Sands Corp., Lakes Entertainment and Penn National Gaming are preoccupied. But Peninsula Gaming, Foxwoods - Goodson Gaming, Cake Poker - Atlantis , and Scientific Games - Playtech (Sciplay) are getting ready to jump in.

Nevada Board Approves Caesars-888 Deal
March 16, 2011
The Nevada Gaming Control Board has approved a partnership between Caesars Entertainment and 888 Holdings. This does not mean that true Internet gambling is coming to Nevada, at least not yet. But the approval means casino regulators have accepted an operator that used to take bets from the U.S. It also points to which states and companies will win the race to be America’s first licensed online poker operators: Caesars or PartyGaming - bwin Interactive Entertainment.
Gov. Christie Vetoes N.J. Internet Gambling
March 14, 2011
Governor Chris Christie gave legitimate reasons for vetoing the intrastate Internet gaming bill. But the real reason was political. As a Republican, Christie has to both balance the budget and be socially conservative. So he will help put it on the ballot. If NJ voters approve, it's not his fault. And the real winners will be the licensed casinos of Atlantic City, which desperately need ways to compete and expand their business.

Sprint CEO Dan Hesse defines “unlimited” in new TV ad | www.sys-con.com
What can I say? Dan Hesse is the face of Sprint and has plenty of guts. Hesse and Sprint have just set the bar for “unlimited” data plans. Now that is what I call gutsy.
