St. Louis-based Panera Bread Co. reportedly has revealed plans to expand the chain throughout the New England area, according to The Boston Globe. The fast-casual restaurant chain hopes to open approximately 100 new restaurants nationwide, including 28 in New England and 12 in Massachusetts between now and the end of 2011, according to the company. At the start of 2010, the company operated 33 Panera restaurants in the Boston area.
