There has been much activity on the supply side of bio-plastics for packaging but rather less on the demand side in Europe. Forecasts for early potential of up to 5% penetration may be influenced from suppliers and must be regarded with suspicion, until prices become closer to those of oil-based materials or the drivers for uptake are stronger.
