Apple's business model depends on a closed system. They have approached copyrights from a different prospective. If the courts do not see it the Apple way, their business model will need redirecting, and will have a significant impact on them.

Apple has hinted it will protect the iPhone Touch Screen and the patents it has for thaqt screen. Palm has said they also have patents and are not worried. Bloggers have claimed Apple twisted Googles arm on Android. But what if they all lose to a computer screen.

The global economic downturn made it worse as a serious storm in the 2nd layer although memory industry needs an M&A/ JV and cost down with advanced technology development as the industry dynamics. As to the supply and demand relationship, expected to reach the balancing point in 2010 with basic Capex.

One of the primary building blocks of today is the memory chip. As a product it has seen a collapse in price that few other products have in my memory. It was rapid and harsh. But what will happen to other industries if it starts a rapid climb?
It's not the Srevices but the Costs of upgrading in the down turn Slowing Sales.

The author says PC sales are off but services are up and this is a shift from traditional computers to services. I believe their is an underlying factor that has been overlooked and could continue the downtrend into out years.

Apple changed the music distribution model with the iPod and iTunes, then came movies and finally application for your phone. But is that the final method or is software around the corner? Apple can reduce it costs of selling and also get a closer edge in marketing to its computer customer.

The patent revolves around the iPhone and the use of touch and point on the phone, but patents are non-dimensional and non-product oriented This patent could put Apple on the top of the next generation of computers where the mouse vanishes and the screen is the new mouse.
