Beneficiaries in AT&T Vendor Streamlining | online.barrons.com
Existing vendors that are not selected as prime for their domain may have to sign reseller agreement with the domain primes and that would impact the bottom line and profitability. New vendors will be completely left out if not able to forge partnerships with the domain primes. Innovation can seriously be hampered.

Is prepaid growth an illusion? | telephonyonline.com
The increase in pre-paid mobile customers makes sense given the current economic conditions but the mobile industry, especially in the US, was built on post-paid or contract subscribers, and will not become pre-paid driven.

Sprint, T-Mobile Heading for Imminent Tie-Up? | www.xchangemag.com
Given the challenging situation that Sprint is facing and continued loss of subscribers and technology mismatch between Nextel iDEN and Sprint CDMA, it is very unlikely that T-Mobile will make a move to acquire Sprint. VMware unveils its cloud OS; Wants to be a bridge for the enterprise | blogs.zdnet.com
The best new feature of VMware v4.0 (dubbed vShphere) is the inclusion of "FT" - Fault Tolerance. Essentially, if a primary server fails, the 2nd "Shadow" server will seamlessly assume the role of the primary server. This means - zero - downtime. There are certain caveats, such as shared storage is required and a high speed link between the 2 servers is assumed, but IF you need true fault tolerance, this is a great idea.

Starent Networks Introduces Service Convergence Platform Bridging Legacy Mobile and Next Generation All-IP Multimedia Networks | www.foxbusiness.com
Ericsson has publicly announced that the Redback platform is going to be their product of choice for the 4G/LTE Evolved Packet Core (EPC) solution. It is very unlikely for Ericsson to acquire Starent and pay a premium. NSN and ALU are more likely candidates since they do not have significant footprint with their announced products and are very weak in the EPC space.
