The global economic downturn made it worse as a serious storm in the 2nd layer although memory industry needs an M&A/ JV and cost down with advanced technology development as the industry dynamics.  As to the supply and demand relationship, expected to reach the balancing point in 2010 with basic Capex.

No Compelling Value for Verizon Wireless over Sprint

Samsung's CDMA femtocell is 1xRTT only and does not support EVDO/3G data service and there are no plans to move in that direction any time soon! Given this fact, and the fact that Sprint also uses Samsung femtocells, there is no compelling value or difference between Verizon's plans and that of Sprint's! AT&T's femtocell is going to be equipped with 3G/UMTS radio and will have a much better data throughput than Verizon's!
