Inform the insured of the "Duties of the Insured," meaning protect the subject of insurance from further damage and call the agent, not the insurance company immediately. 3. Let the insured know to begin contacting contractors, bodyshops, etc. to obtain estimates for repair. Advise the insured of the dollar amount of their deductible and to keep any out-of-pocket receipts generated as a result of the loss for reimbursement.
