Sony is making "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs" available for Video On Demand (for Sony Bravia TV sets) and Blu Ray on December 8th. This has exhibitor marinara in a boil as Sony is pushing the limits of the window to take advantage of holiday marketing. Major exhibs are threatning to yank the film now if they proceed.Reasonable or Not?

The business model is missing, the revenue share small and the demand absent.Many have tried and failed including: Intertainer, MovieLink, Akimbo, Moviebeam - even CinemaNow was sold because it could not make money.
