Wind turbine maker Vestas sees profits fall | www.bbc.co.uk
Vestas is a Pioneer in the Wind power and yet it experienced a loss in 2010 and a declining revenue of some 17% annually year over year , while the overall industry trends experience some 23% growth year over year. Was this truly a result of delays in projects and project financing or is Vestas losing it it leading market position and has problems in execution?

Oil Majors Develop $1B Rapid Response System | www.rigzone.com
As has been learned from the Deepwater Horizon spill, the complexities that exist in these deepwater wells and the potential for repeats of this kind of spill will challenge all parts of the oil supply equation, all the way to costs to contain and clean up spills..

July 20, 2010
The International Energy Agency (IEA), an oil & gas industry icon and energy advisor to many of the world's key countries, reports that China has indeed become the world's largest energy consumer, well ahead of expectations. China has been quick to deny this. While controversy swirls on this monumental change in world order other statistics maintain the status quo.

BP Invoices Anadarko and Mitsui for Gulf Cleanup | www.petroleumafrica.com
This action by BP should not come as much of a surprise to anyone. It is reasonable to assume that while BP carries the front page burden of this spill, actions of this nature should be expected. They are reasonable and within the legal and financial boundaries of corporate contracts.Once the spill is contained, it is also reasonable to find that years of legal actions between all parties involved in the rig and this particular well will be taken and pursued.

Unlocking Grand Bay's deep treasures: gulf shelf potential at 17,000-28,000 ft | www.ogj.com
A recent Oil and Gas Journal article (April 12, 2010) discusses Grand Bay field in the Mississippi Delta, as another example of a potential new discovery in deep shelf gulf. Ultra-deep shelf plays target reservoirs below the salt weld with sizes up to 1 Tcfe at over 20,000 ft. Interest in deep shelf plays in the Gulf of Mexico has been spurred by McMoRan's recent Davy Jones discovery. These deep prospects have shorter lead times to first production and lower development costs.
Conoco Phillips withdrawal from Yambu project sends a serious industry signal.
May 4, 2010
An interesting article on 4/29/10 MEED by Peter Salisbury "A false dawn for the downstream petrochemical industry".Conoco Phillips withdrawal from the $10+ Billion project, is a sure signal that the medium-term future of refining and petrochemical markets is not rosy. It is as well a confirmation that the company is still recovering from the 2006 outlay of $35.6 B to acquire Burlington Resources.
EADS posts a loss and cancels its dividend
March 10, 2010
In August 2009, I have contributed an analysis and predicted that EADS is in for hard time in the next couple of years and here it is, the Euro 1.5B net profit in 2008 was turned into a net loss of Euro 763M and the cancellation of dividend, an extreme measure for a European /government owned company. The worse is yet to come as the company speeds ups production and invades its backlog.
Arrow Trucking --follow ups thoughts on its real troubles
March 8, 2010
I wrote my analysis in January commenting on a company that did violated a Federal law of plant closure and the obligation of its Directors and Officers to exercise prudence in care and loyalty ot the various stakeholder, but as the regulators state now, this is a Chapter 7 filing without a precedent where the company assets and Liabilities are unknown, & no officers appeared in court or offered any explanation and where the secured lenders were defrauded..its sounds more than chapter 7.
