The three technologies will offer solutions that can and will co-exist with each other, but they will support very different market needs and business models. WiFi will continue to represent a no-cost storefront and home solution. WiMAX will provide niche application support for a variety of solutions. 4G cellular via LTE will be the global wireless data bearer of choice for mobile phones, tablet PC’s, and any solution that requires ubiquitous service. Certain applications, such as paid WiFi service at airports and other locations, will see their final death due to 4G.
