Microsoft's latest Operating System called Windows 7 (Win7) has lots going for it: new features, better performance, greener, easier to use etc, but its scheduled release this fall will not significantly boost PC sales. Consumers are not ready to spend extra money while we are in a recession, and more and more consumers are moving to "doing it all in the browser" or cloud computing as the experts call it. Plus with the current smart phones like the iPhone from Apple they are needing a "real" PC less and less.

Internet threats like Phishing, man-in-the-browser attacks, and keyloggers are all terms that might sound scary (or not) to the average computer users, but what they do not realize is how vunerable they are when they are simply "surfing the web". Did you know that a certain set of viruses exists that are only detectable when they are running inside your corporate LAN (in other words when it is too late)? How can IT departments protect themselves from undetectable viruses?

The new iPhone 3GS announced yesterday is not only a phone, but also a music player, a video player, a digital camera, a video recorder, video editing application, voice recorder, Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), and a GPS unit. You can get all of this for $199 plus a cell phone contract (which you already have), which is much cheaper than buying all these gadgets by themselves. Now with the recession going on and people trying to save money will the rest of the gadget industry suffer while Apple thrives?

Google Wave can easily replace email, IM, blogs, Wikis and SharePoint in other words ALL the collaborative tools that are in use in the corporate world of desktops. Almost as a side effect Google Wave is taking on the Microsoft desktop monopoly, forcing them to up the ante, so as to not loose the very profitable desktop business.
