Panera Bread Continues To Rise
November 1, 2010
What makes this brand so impressive is the fact that they stay true to their concept and they don't try to be all things to all people. Not to mention, who can duplicate this model anyway? Fresh dough delivered to every Bakery Cafe in the nation every single day. The ability to be as consistent as one can be when we are talking about "made from scratch" dough.
Is Buffalo Wild Wings Ready For Some Football
November 1, 2010
While this is the time of year for Football, Wings, Beer and Fun Foods, one would think that this is BWW's time of the year to shine. Well, they are doing it, but not the way that I would. While I would offer flat screen TV's, Sports of every kind, all kinds of flavored wings, many varieties of beers, wines, and mixed drinks, I certainly would not offer rowdiness, drunkenness, and a place that definitely does not promote a family atmosphere.
Burger King.....Not A Good Time To Reinvent Yourselves
November 1, 2010
Is Burger King playing with a full deck?McDonalds wins this game hands down.Other QSR's such as Carl's, Hardees, Wendys , & Jack In The Box are eager to play, so in my opinion, I would fold this idea right now.Of course now is "NOT" the time for Burger King to redesign their restaurants or for that matter, come up with a new prototype.

Chiootle Mexican Grill " Mucho Caliente"
November 1, 2010
Chipotle undoubtedly leads the way in "Fast Casual Mexican" theme restaurants. One thing that makes this model work extremely well is its simplicity. The restaurants are very easy to manage and extremely profitable.I always wonder why they out perform their competition so much, and its easy to see why. They offer fresher products, they never abandon their concept by adding senseless products that don't compliment their concept, and their committed to staying with what got them to where they are today.
Tough times ahead for Red Robin
November 1, 2010
While I like their burgers and their commitment to being a "family restaurant", I don't see a bright fututre for this company. While the last quarter showed a modest decline in comp sales, they were up against a terrible quarter in 2009 and I thought they should have at least broke even.
Why I like Cracker Barrel CBRL
November 1, 2010
While their growth has slowed significantly, Cracker Barrel continues to outperform their competitors like Texas Roadhouse, Ruby Tuesday, and Applebees because they know how to execute.
Walmart & Target vs. The "Dollar Industry"
November 1, 2010
As I follow the "Dollar Industry" especially in these economical challenging times, one would say "wow" they have to be hurting the likes of Walmart & Target. This is true, but only until there is a full recovery and people eventually will go back to their old shopping habits.
