What's Up With Yet Another Numonyx Delay?
March 3, 2008
Could it be another Numonyx delay? | www.eetimes.com
1. The NOR market is a money loser, no matter who the players are. 2. If Numonyx, (Intel + STMicroelectronics), was such a great money making proposition it would have been funded months ago. 3. The financial world is well aware that the last big NOR Flash venture between AMD and Fujitsu, Spansion, resulted in a public company that to date has never ever made a profit.
Sprint Nextel Watch: Hesse, showing leadership

Sprint's Wake-up Call | www.businessweek.com
Hesse deserves an 'A' for going public to shake up and embarrass entrenched management and the legacy mindset with details of customer care problems.
Sprint Nextel Watch: Price War! How Should Sprint Nextel Respond?
February 25, 2008
UPDATE: Focus Shifts To Sprint Reaction To Unlimited Plans | money.cnn.com
In this article, it is proposed that Sprint has an opportunity to think and act strategically to counteract the Verizon announcement of, if not a price war, then an unlimited calling plan war, by promoting the iDEN network aggressively and expanding Boost Unlimited on the CDMA network.
Sprint Nextel Watch: Governance Issues at the Board

Update 2-Sprint appoints activist investor to board | www.reuters.com
Say what you may about the Sprint Nextel ship and its prospects, but the appointment of Ralph Whitworth to the board announced Tuesday (February 12, 2008) on the surface should appear to be regarded as good news. If one of the key arguments explaining Sprint Nextel's woes lies with management incompetence and strategy, and this malaise has been in place since the merger, there's no better place to start than with the board, right?

Will Yahoo! be the Next AOL? A Look at the Suitors – News Corp, Microsoft, and Google
February 13, 2008
After Rejection by Yahoo, Microsoft Hints at a Fight | www.nytimes.com
Yahoo is in a good and a bad position. The good position is that they have multiple suitors already -- Microsoft, News Corp, and Google (in a way) -- and might get more, driving up the offer price. The bad news is that they've already seen AOL go down the road of a failed merger with Time Warner, and, if not careful, they could be the next.
AT&T is unlocked Apple iPhone 'scandal' loser; Apple will emerge comfortably
February 12, 2008
Millions of iPhones Go AWOL | www.businessweek.com
AT&T doesn't make a cent off of an unlocked Apple iPhone, but Apple makes a hefty profit. Plus, they get distribution to untapped markets and can still claim that they tried to prevent it. Apple is on a roll and will continue through the next iPhone release (provided it is not a bad release).
Google's domain tasting policy, though well meaning, is small potatoes
February 12, 2008
Google declares war on domain tasting? | www.imediaconnection.com
Google's domain tasting policy makes sense, but, predictably, it addresses a very small concern. Click fraud and a complete lack of transparency are more vital, though this lack of transparency also vaulted Google over Yahoo, AOL, and Microsoft. In the vein of openness (OpenSocial, Android, etc), Google will inevitably have to cast more light on its opaque business processes.
GPS is worthwhile, but Garmin's Nuviphone won't impinge on Apple iPhone's Space
February 12, 2008
Who Dares Call Garmin's Nuviphone an iPhone-Killer? | blog.wired.com
Garmin's Nuviphone entrant shows that the incumbent manufacturers and carriers are continuing to lose their stature, in the wake of the Apple's iPhone. However, Garmin has neither the brand power nor the expertise to pull off an iPhone. We won't be able to predict success until we have much more information, as I detail in this article.
